Education: Coaching, Workshops, and Resources oh my

Angelsea Urban Lifestyle Photograher - New Jersey Photographer_547

Hello friends!

Over the next several weeks I will be detailing out the new plans for the 2014 Educational Division for my business. It’s no secret that in the past I have worn two separate hats; one for my photography passion and business and one for my Consulting Business. Recently over the past couple of years, the two have been finally playing nice and working hand in hand. THIS in itself is a miracle and an act I never thought possible or just didn’t know how to do. Having two completely separate worlds – the business world where black and white meant, exactly that: a  white word document with black times new roman font double spaced and justified. And then in the photography world where black and white meant a sweet family was having a timeless moment and I was there with my camera creating photographs for them to cherish for generations. Yeah – it was THAT different for years! Constantly shifting gears for the client before me.

But – times have changed, THANK GOODNESS and now there are more and more photographers and creatives who are seeking “consulting” services for themselves (but they all call it “mentoring” or “coaching” which I am still getting used to lol.) I still love working with restaurants and hotels and private companies, but now I also get to incorporate my creative passions as a consultant or “coach” and I couldn’t be happier!

As a photographer or a creative entreprenaur, I get it! I really truly do. I know the struggles of pricing and profits and bookkeeping and how it stifles the creative spirit. As a business person by nature the creative spirit in me often fights with my business head preventing me from taking more risks which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. But for those who are seeking to earn a living – an actual living – from their creative entrepreneurship, it’s imperative that sometimes the business head wins.

So over the past several months I have been working on ways that I could bring new services to creative entrepreneurs, while continuing to offer customized business services to “regular” entrepreneurs and small – meduim business owners. Creating a new branch of my business and brand became necessary, especially considering there are 6 areas of service and trying to keep track of it all and separate from my photography, well, it just became necessary.

I will be rolling each new division out over the next several weeks as not to bombard readers and friends with too much info. And frankly, I’m still organizing it all in my head and working on the new websites and visual graphic elements and trying to schedule these sessions through tax season while still booking portrait sessions!

Oh and let’s not forget the snow days. Yes, lots of snow days  – (and all the parents said – “oh ok, I totally get you now”. lol)

Here are some highlights about what’s to come; each category will be further detailed in the coming weeks:
